Sourcing 2die4"s raw materials?
Where possible, we seek out only the best quality Australian nuts and seeds, and choose organic and pesticide-free produce.
Brazil nuts grow only in South American jungles, so these are imported, with both 'organic' and 'fair-trade' certification. Our Pecans, Almonds, Walnuts and Pepitas are all Australian- grown, all pesticide-free.
We use water in which the chlorine and fluoride has been filtered out.
We use only raw, whole, Celtic sea salt.
The fresh, liquid whey employed comes from a local cheesemaker, from unheated cheeses free of animal rennet.
(Note: We now produce a VEGAN MIX, a pack of mixed nuts processed without whey.)
The products are entirely GLUTEN-FREE.

What is the ACTIVATION process?
The raw nuts and seeds are long-soaked, several hours, in a solution of filtered water, fresh whey and Celtic salt.
They are then strained off, dried off, loaded in thin layers onto dehydrator shelves, where they are slow-dried, for 24 hours, at temperatures less than pasteurisation (72 Centigrade). The dehydration procedure simply arrests the activation of the nuts, and ensuring that the sprouting, enzyme-rich life that has been engendered during the long-soak is not destroyed. They are NOT cooked!
Once removed from the dehydrators, the nuts are cooled, packaged, and cool-stored.
All in all, a 40-hour process.
